This file should be named "ReadMe First". It contains timely information that is too new to include with the primary documentation file.

Bugs, Enhancements, etc.
========================
This program is very new, and I'm sure there will be many suggestions for additional features. Please feel free to send these on to me, even if you are not interested in continuing to use the program.
Although I've tested the program quite a bit, I have not been able to test it under the very large number of configurations now available. (Apple really threw me for a loop by announcing a plethora of new machines during the period the program was being developed.) If you come across any problems, please let me know. I would hate to see someone who might find this program useful simply give up on it because of an inexcusable bug. Even if you don't want to keep using the program, I hope you'll contact me if you come across problems.
Machine Requirements
====================
Figger will not run on a 68000 CPU; it requires a 68020 or above. In addition, it requires Color Quickdraw.
If you do not have such a machine but would still like to combine GIF and FIG files, you might check out DisFigger, which runs on a 68000. (DisFigger does not allow you to edit or view files--it simply allows you to combine them.)
Figger has been tested and found to work under Systems 6.0.5, 6.0.7, 6.0.8, 7.0 and 7.1.
Problem With Alias Files
========================
Essentially, Figger treats a System Seven alias file exactly as it would the file for which it is an alias. If you tell Figger to open an alias, it will correctly open the real file.
A problem arises when, in an open file dialog box, the "Check Contents" checkbox is checked. In this situation, no alias files will be listed in the file list. To see any alias files, you must uncheck "Check Contents". Alternatively, you may simply look for the actual file rather than the alias.
Registration Requirements
=========================
Information on registration is detailed in the file Figger™ Registration.
